At SLPI, our mission is to fully develop and commercialize our patented Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) system with integrated latent heat energy storage designed to generate electricity on 24/7 basis.

Market forces, such as declining costs, and regulations continue to promote further development of renewable power generation. Over the past two decades a significant share of coal generation was replaced with cleaner natural gas generation. However, future trends indicate that in the coming decades natural gas generation will in turn lose significant share to renewable energy, mainly solar. However the industry is still struggling with how to solve the intermittency issue of renewable energy.

Although solar, wind, and biomass all exhibit attractive performance under optimal conditions, energy storage for use in the absence of a primary source has been a critical issue for their large-scale deployment. Without storage, any of the renewables can provide little more than an increment to a more reliable base supply.

The SLPI system solves that problem.
